Major reshuffle in Police as 21 officers transferred

The government has carried out a major reshuffle in the police administration, transferring and posting 21 senior officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre in a move aimed at administrative reorganisation.

The officers include Additional Inspectors General (AIGs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), Additional DIGs and Superintendents of Police, according to a notification issued on Sunday by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Under the order, DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman has been promoted and appointed as Additional Inspector General at Police Headquarters. NSI Director (DIG) Barrister Md Mosharraf Hossain has been promoted and posted as Additional IGP of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been made Additional IGP of Police Telecommunication.

RAB Additional Director General (DIG) Faruk Ahmed has also been promoted and posted as Additional IGP of the Highway Police.

At the DIG level, Pralay Chisim has been transferred to PTC Noakhali, Mia Masud Karim to APBN FDMN Office, Mohammad Osman Goni to PTC Rangpur, and AFM Mosharraf Hossain Miaji to PTC Khulna.

Among Additional DIGs, Md Asaduzzaman has been posted to RAB, AKM Akhtaruzzaman and Md Kutub Uddin to Police Headquarters, Md Al Mamun to the 2nd APBN, Sarkar Mohammad Kaiser to PSTS Betbunia, and Mohammad Mahibul Islam Khan to Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah.

Additional DIG Md Abdul Warish has been posted to PTC Rangpur, while Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been attached to the Barishal Range DIG office.

At the Superintendent of Police level, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir has been posted to Police Headquarters, Md Jahidur Rahman to the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Salma Syed Poli to the Rangpur Range DIG office, and Md Shahidul Islam and Md Kamruzzaman to the Barishal Range DIG office.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmed of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said the order was issued in the public interest and would take immediate effect.
