The Dhaka concert of acclaimed Indian singer-songwriter Anupam Roy has been postponed, organisers said on Thursday, just a day before the event was due to take place.
Yamaha Music Bangladesh, one of the organisers, said the event had secured all required permissions. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs instructed them to defer the programme until further notice.
The concert, titled ‘One True Sound’, was scheduled to be held at the United Convention Centre in Dhaka on 26 June.
Organisers said they expect to announce a revised date within the next 24 hours. In the event that a new schedule cannot be confirmed, ticket holders will be offered full refunds and provided with details of the refund procedure.
Anupam Roy confirmed the matter, stating that he received official notification of the postponement from the organisers on Thursday morning.
The event was being jointly arranged by Yamaha Music Bangladesh and Triple Time Communications, with local band Bengal Symphony also slated to perform.
