Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Iran will assume full supervision and management of the Strait of Hormuz for the next 30 days, warning that any unilateral intervention by other countries could further complicate the situation and delay the full reopening of the strategic waterway.

Speaking during a visit to Iraq, Araghchi said he had briefed his Iraqi counterpart on the latest developments regarding what he described as the war imposed on Iran, as well as on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Iran and the United States.

He said the Strait of Hormuz would remain under Iran's complete supervision and management over the next month, adding that full operational capacity would be restored once all remaining obstacles were removed.

"We are working towards the full restoration of this vital maritime route," Araghchi said.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that the responsibility for managing the strait rests solely with the Islamic Republic of Iran and that no other country has any role under the terms of the memorandum of understanding.

He warned that any external interference or unilateral action could further complicate the situation and delay the complete reopening of the strategic shipping lane.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining one of the world's most critical maritime routes for global energy supplies.
