A Dhaka court on Monday, June 29, 2026, ordered the seizure of tax files of Afroza Sultana, wife of former Narsingdi-2 lawmaker Anwarul Ashraf Khan, in connection with a graft case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Shahjahan Kabir passed the order, allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The petition stated that the ACC filed a case against Afroza Sultana and her husband, Anwarul Ashraf Khan, on January 9, 2025, under Section 27(1) of Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, and Section 109 of Penal Code. During the investigation, a review of the collected records and relevant information revealed that accused Afroza Sultana is a registered taxpayer, reports BSS.

”For the sake of proper investigation, her tax files should be seized immediately,” the petition added.
