LRF Fruit Festival Brings Together Judges, Lawyers and Journalists
The annual Fruit Festival organised by the Law Reporters Forum (LRF), a platform of journalists covering law, justice, the constitution and human rights, brought together Supreme Court judges, senior lawyers and journalists in a festive atmosphere on Sunday.
The event was held at the LRF office located at the Supreme Court Bar Association Building, where judges, judicial officers, legal professionals and LRF members from print, television and online media participated.
The participants exchanged views in a cordial environment and enjoyed a variety of seasonal fruits. The guests praised LRF’s role in strengthening communication, trust and cooperation among the judiciary, legal community and media.
They said LRF has been making significant contributions for years by presenting accurate court and judiciary-related news to the public. They also appreciated the organisation’s efforts towards promoting transparency, accountability and public awareness in the legal sector.
Supreme Court judges, including Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore, Justice Md Khasruzzaman, Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder, Justice Biswajit Debnath, Justice Md Bashir Ullah and retired Justice M R Hasan, attended the programme.
Representing the Supreme Court administration, Acting Registrar General of the Supreme Court and Registrar of the High Court Division Md Nurul Amin Biplob, Registrar of the Appellate Division Ashiqul Khabir and Registrar of the High Court Division (Judiciary) Md Sharifur Rahman were present.
Among the senior lawyers attending the festival were Bangladesh Bar Council Vice Chairman Zainul Abedin MP, BNP Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Badruddoza Badal, International Crimes Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam, Supreme Court Bar Secretary Mohammad Ali, senior lawyers Motahar Hossain Saju, Sheikh Awsafur Rahman Bulu, Bar Council members Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim, Mohammad Shishir Monir and Mahfuzur Rahman Milon, along with several deputy and assistant attorney generals.
The programme was organised under the guidance of LRF President Muhammad Yeasin and General Secretary Arafat Munna, with supervision from Fruit Festival Implementation Sub-Committee Convener and LRF Vice President Abu Saleh Rony and Member Secretary Tanvir Ahmed.
The festival featured traditional seasonal fruits including mango, jackfruit, latkan, guava and pineapple. The event created an atmosphere of camaraderie and professional bonding among journalists, lawyers and members of the judiciary.
