2 more witnesses testify over attacking former US envoy

 
Two more witnesses testified on Sunday in the case over the attack on the motorcade of former US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, bringing the total number of witnesses examined to nine out of 28.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter recorded the testimonies of Assistant Sub-Inspector Grish Chandra Barman and ASI Azmal Hossain, court officials said.

The accused, who are currently on bail, appeared before the court. Following the witnesses depositions, defence lawyer Gazi Faisal Islam cross-examined them. The court later fixed October 14 for the next hearing.

The nine accused include former Mohammadpur unit Chhatra League president Naimul Hasan, Mohammad Ishtiaq Mahmud, Firoz Mahmud, Mir Amzad Hossain, Saju Islam, Rajibul Islam, Shahidul Alam Khan, Siam and Ali Ahmed.
