Major Police Reshuffle as 6 Officers Attached to DIG Offices

Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification attaching six senior police officers to various Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) offices across the country.

The notification was published on Tuesday. It stated, the postings have been made in the public interest and will take effect immediately.

Under the order, Additional DIG Nasiyan Wajed has been attached from Dhaka Police Staff College to the Rangpur Range DIG office, while Superintendent of Police (Supernumerary Additional DIG) Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman was reassigned from the Rajshahi In-Service Training Center to the Khulna Range DIG office.

Superintendent of Police (Supernumerary Additional DIG) Md Apel Mahmud was attached from the Tourist Police to the Rajshahi Range DIG office.

Furthermore, Superintendent of Police A. F. M. Nizam Uddin was moved from Police Headquarters to the Rangpur Range DIG office, Superintendent of Police Mir Abu Tauhid from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to the Chittagong Range DIG office, and Special Superintendent of Police Tahsin Masroof Hossain Masfi from the Special Branch (SB) to the Rangpur Range DIG office.

In a separate gazette issued on the same day, ministry reshuffled four DIG-rank officers into new roles.

Mymensingh Range DIG Md Ataul Kibria has been transferred to the CID, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan to Mymensingh Range as DIG, Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury to Chittagong Range as DIG, and Police Headquarters DIG Sarwar Murshed Shamim to SMP as Commissioner.

This gazette also cancelled a previous June 28 transfer order that had assigned CID DIG Mia Masud Karim to the FDMN office, APBn.

Additionally, a third notification announced the transfer and new postings of four other senior officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Pabna.

Abu Ashraf, SP of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU), has been appointed as the new SP of Pabna, replacing Md Chufi Ullah, who has been reassigned to the CID. Meanwhile, ATU SP (Supernumerary Additional DIG) Sharif Uddin Ahmed has been posted to RAB, and Industrial Police Additional DIG (Current Charge) Md Kafil Uddin has been posted to Police Headquarters.
