Scaloni dismisses dressing room controversy after World Cup final loss

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has dismissed speculation over an alleged dressing room controversy following his side’s defeat to Spain in the FIFA World Cup final.

Speaking to reporters after returning to his hometown, Scaloni said he was unaware of the social media rumours surrounding a viral dressing room video.

“I don’t watch social media. I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said.

Rejecting claims of internal conflict within the squad, the coach praised his players for their commitment throughout the tournament.

“These boys gave everything on the field. They defended the Argentina jersey with pride, and that’s what we should remember,” Scaloni said.

He also brushed aside reports linking Argentine players to controversy over a “Falklands Argentines” banner displayed after the semi-final against England, saying he had no knowledge of the matter.

Scaloni said he will take a short break to spend time with his family before returning to national team duties in September.

“I miss my family a lot. I’ll spend some time with them and then return in September,” he said.

The Argentina coach avoided commenting further on post-final speculation, urging attention to remain on the team’s future rather than rumours.
