Man arrested with foreign pistol, ammo in Khulna

Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has detained a man named Mostafa Kamal, 48, with a foreign pistol, a magazine and two rounds of ammunition in Khulna.

The arrested Mostafa Kamal is the son of Abdul Khalek Mridha. He resides in the AB Siddique Lane area behind Boikali Bazar under Khalishpur in Khulna city.

A team from KMP DB conducted a drive based on secret information in the Khalishpur Police Station area on Thursday morning, July 23 and arrested him.

Police said a foreign pistol, one magazine, and two rounds of bullets were recovered from his possession during the drive.

KMP Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) Mohammad Ahaduzzaman Mia said a DB team conducted a raid based on secret intelligence and arrested Mostafa Kamal. Later, a foreign pistol, a magazine, and two rounds of bullets were recovered from him.

He added that legal action against the arrested individual under the relevant law is currently underway.

Police are investigating the source of the recovered firearm and checking whether any criminal syndicate is involved in the matter.
