
Southeast Bank PLC held its 9th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) and 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) through a digital platform, where shareholders approved the increase of the Authorized Capital from BDT 1,500 crore to BDT 2,000 crore and approved 3% Cash Dividend and 7% Stock Dividend.
The 9th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) and the 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Southeast Bank PLC were held on Thursday, through a digital platform, says a press release.
MA Kashem, Chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, presided over the meeting. Bank’s Vice Chairperson, Rehana Rahman took part in the meeting virtually by using digital platform. Other Directors- Jusna Ara Kashem, Mrs. Duluma Ahmed, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Engr Khandker Badrul Hassan (Chairman of Risk Management Committee), Nur Nahar Tarin, Md. Rafiqul Islam (nominee of Asia Insurance PLC), Independent Directors- Barrister M Moyeen Alam Firozee (Chairman of Audit Committee) and Nurjahan Begum, ndc were also present in the meeting. Mr. Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Managing Director and CEO and Mamunur Rashid, Company Secretary, also participated in the meeting. Bank’s sponsors and a large number of shareholders took part in the meeting through the digital platform.
Southeast Bank MD and CEO Md Khalid Mahmood Khan welcomed shareholders at the bank’s 9th EGM and 31st AGM, highlighting its 2025 performance and future strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency and asset quality.
The AGM witnessed a lively presentation on the Bank’s operational performance. The Bank earned an operating profit of BDT 11,978.43 million in 2025 (consolidated). As on 31st December 2025 Bank’s total deposits amounted to BDT 439,234.90 million and its total assets reached BDT 554,424.56 million, Earning Per Share (EPS) was BDT 2.51 (consolidated), Net Asset Value per share was BDT 25.74 (consolidated). The Price Earnings Ratio of the Bank was 3.62 times in 2025. The total Regulatory Capital reached BDT 51,096.18 million as of December 31, 2025.
At the 9th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting, the shareholders unanimously approved the special resolution to increase the Bank’s Authorized Capital from BDT 1,500 Crore to BDT 2,000 Crore. The shareholders also unanimously approved the proposed amendments to Clause ‘V’ of the Memorandum of Association and Article 4(a) of the Articles of Association.
Southeast Bank Chairman M A Kashem thanked shareholders for their continued support and said their suggestions would be gradually implemented to strengthen the bank’s brand image, efficiency, performance and long-term sustainability.
