Acting President to work from Bangabhaban, stay at Speaker's residence

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will work from Bangabhaban while staying at the Speaker's official residence in the Jatiya Sangsad complex, he said during a conversation.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, special security arrangements for the President were put in place at the Speaker's residence and its surrounding areas within the parliament premises.

On the same day, following the resignation of President Mohammed Shahabuddin on health grounds, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the responsibilities of Acting President in accordance with the Constitution.

BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan said that on Sunday at 11:30 am, Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will lay wreaths at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar in tribute to the nation's fallen heroes. At 12:30 pm, he will visit the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to pay his respects and offer prayers.
