Children die of measles symptoms, total deaths reach 840

Three more children have died from measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 872 new cases have been reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were released in the DGHS’s regular measles report on Saturday.
Since March 15, a total of 744 children have died from measles symptoms, while 96 deaths have been confirmed as measles-related. The overall death toll stands at 840.
In the past 24 hours, 121 confirmed measles cases were detected, taking the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 16,180.
Another 751 people reported measles symptoms during the same period, bringing the total number of people with symptoms to 129,061 since March 15.
The report said 111,674 people have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms since March 15, while 173,397 have recovered and been discharged.
