Three alleged members of the purported criminal group "B Company" were arrested with two foreign-made pistols, seven rounds of live ammunition and Tk 153,300 in cash during a raid conducted by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Khulna's Labanchara area on Sunday, officials said.
The operation was carried out around 12:30 pm in Raypara under Labanchara Police Station by RAB-6's CPC Special Company, acting on a tip-off.
The arrested individuals were identified as Md. Ilias Sardar, 42, Md. Sujon, 38, and Md. Nanna Bepari, 57.
According to RAB, a search of Nanna Bepari's residence led to the recovery of two foreign-made pistols, seven rounds of live ammunition and Tk 153,300 in cash from the possession of Ilias and Sujon.
RAB claimed that the three suspects are associated with the alleged "B Company" criminal group. The elite force also said the accused have multiple cases filed against them in Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), Pirojpur and Barguna on charges including attempted murder, narcotics offences and theft.
A case under the Arms Act is being processed against the accused, who will be handed over to Labanchara Police Station upon completion of the legal formalities, RAB added.
