
MUNSHIGANJ, Aug 4: Authorities in Munshiganj on Tuesday paid tribute to those killed during the July 2024 Mass Uprising by visiting their graves and inaugurating a "Street Memory Stamp" to preserve their legacy.
The programme began around 11am with a visit to the graves of the July martyrs at the Uttar Islampur cemetery, where special prayers were offered for the departed.
Later, officials formally inaugurated the memorial installation at the Krishi Bank intersection near the Supermarket area in the district town.
The event was attended by Munshiganj-3 MP Kamruzzaman, Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, District Council Administrator AKM Eradat Manu, Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Mousumi Mahbub, District Council Chief Executive Officer Nazma Nahar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md Mahmudur Rahman Khondkar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Zubayer Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md Kamran Hossain, among others.
Speakers said the nation would always remember the sacrifices of those who lost their lives during the July 2024 uprising.
