BGB seizes Yaba pills, pistol, ammo in Bandarban

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized 246,000 Yaba tablets, a foreign pistol and five rounds of ammunition during a special operation in the Ghumdhum border area of Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban.

A BGB team, led by Major Mehedi Hasan Ashik, deputy commander of the Cox’s Bazar Battalion (34 BGB), launched the operation around 11:00pm on Sunday, acting on intelligence that a group of drug traffickers was planning to smuggle a large consignment of Yaba tablets, firearms and ammunition into Bangladesh from Myanmar.

During the operation, BGB members spotted several suspected smugglers approaching Nayapara near border pillar No. 31 around 12:15am on Monday.�"UNB
