The Bandarban district administration has reopened four major tourist spots and connecting roads to the public, allowing visitors to return to some of the district’s remote hill areas after a prolonged closure.

According to a public notice issued by the district administration, the decision was taken unanimously at a meeting of the district law and order committee on August 11.

The reopened areas include the 24-kilometre road from Tamatungi to Tindu in Thanchi upazila, the road and tourist area from Tindu Mukh to Nafakhum, the route from Keokradong to Sungsungpara in Ruma upazila, and the Rijuk waterfall area.

The administration has urged visitors to strictly follow all security-related restrictions and instructions while travelling in the areas.

The notice was issued in the public interest, the district administration said.
