
IFIC Bank PLC has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank under the Tk 10,000 crore refinance scheme established by the central bank to ensure food security, increase agricultural production and generate employment.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Bangladesh Bank’s head office on Sunday. IFIC Managing Director Syed Mansur Mustafa signed the agreement, while A K M Sayduzzaman, Director of the Agricultural Credit Department-2, signed on behalf of Bangladesh Bank, says a press release.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Rafia Sultana, Additional Director of the Agricultural Credit Department-2, Bangladesh Bank; Helal Ahmed, Chief of Branch Business and Head of Operations, IFIC Bank; and Fariha Haider, Head of SME, IFIC Bank, along with other senior officials from both institutions.
Under the “Refinance Scheme for Agricultural and Rural Sector to Increase Agricultural Production and Employment Generation,” eligible farmers, entrepreneurs and customers engaged in productive and income-generating activities across the agricultural and rural economy will have greater access to financing facilities.
