Former foreign minister and Awami League leader Dipu Moni has met her daughter in Munshiganj jail to discuss a parole application following the death of her husband.
Tani Deepavali Nawaz visited the prison on Wednesday to consult her mother on the duration and timing of the parole request.
Jail Superintendent Md Jannat-ul Farhad confirmed this.
Lawyer Md Faisal Hossain said preparations are underway to seek Dipu Moni’s release on parole.
Tawfique Nawaz, 76, died at Dhaka’s Continental Hospital on Tuesday after long-term complications with kidney and liver disease.
He had suffered a stroke in 2019 and was last seen in court on May 27 in a wheelchair to meet his detained wife.
