Prisons IG removed

Prisons Inspector General Brig Gen Syed Md Motaher Hossain has been removed from the post and returned to his parent service.

No replacement was mentioned in the gazette notification from the public administration ministry on Wednesday.

The notification said the army officer had been withdrawn from his deputation and his service placed under the Armed Forces Division.

The interim government appointed Brig Gen Motaher as prisons IG on deputation on Aug 11, 2024, amid the political transition following Aug 5.�"bdnews24
