
Carew & Company (Bangladesh) Ltd has reported a record net profit of Tk 165.24 crore in the 2025οΏ½"26 fiscal year, surpassing its previous record of Tk 129.45 crore in FY2024οΏ½"25.
The companyβs distillery unit was the main contributor, reporting a profit of Tk 223.79 crore during the fiscal year. Its bio-fertiliser, commercial farming, Akandabaria and pharmaceutical units also recorded profits.
However, the sugar unit continued to incur losses. It is projected to post a loss of Tk 60.20 crore in FY2025οΏ½"26, compared with Tk 62.35 crore in losses in the previous fiscal year.
Carewβs net profit stood at Tk 112.08 crore in FY2023οΏ½"24 before rising to Tk 129.45 crore in FY2024οΏ½"25 and reaching the latest record.
Carew Managing Director Rabbir Hasan said several of the companyβs units recorded higher profits this year, while losses in the sugar unit also declined. The company is working to further reduce losses and increase overall profitability.
The sugar and distillery factories of Carew were established in Darshana in 1938. The company currently operates sugar, distillery, pharmaceutical, farming and bio-fertiliser units.
