Bangladesh Air Force Wing Commander Saifur Rahman Saif will be produced before the International Crimes Tribunal on Sunday in a crimes-against-humanity case over the enforced disappearance of BNP leader Elias Ali.
The prosecution confirmed the matter on Saturday. Tribunal-1 issued an arrest warrant against Saifur Rahman on August 9.
The prosecution said the investigation officer had found Saifur’s involvement in the disappearance of Elias Ali. The case is still under investigation.
He is expected to be produced before the tribunal after 9:00 AM on Sunday, following the arrest warrant. The prosecution will then seek to show him arrested in the case.
Elias Ali, a former Sylhet BNP organising secretary and two-time MP from Sylhet-2, disappeared from Banani in Dhaka on April 17, 2012.
