A farmer and his wife died after being electrocuted by a grass-cutting machine in Madhabpur village of Shailkupa, Jhenaidah, at around dawn on Wednesday, August 26.
The two victims were Amarendra Nath Bhowmik, 70, and his wife, Minakshi Rani Bhowmik, 65.
According to reports from the police and local people, Amarendra was cutting the grass for their cows when he accidentally touched an electric cable. His wife was electrocuted while she was trying to rescue him.
The victims were brought to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared them dead.
Shailkupa police OC Humayun Kabir Molla said that police have paid a visit to the scene of crime and investigation is going on.
