Stay alert over attempts to destabilise politics to bring back AL: DSCC administrator

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Mohammad Abdus Salam has urged people to remain vigilant against any attempts to destabilise the country's political situation to facilitate the return of Awami League (AL).

He made the remarks on Friday morning while inaugurating the renovated Kamrangirchar Iron Bridge and reopening it for public use.

“The government has been in office for only six months. It is not possible to resolve the electricity and gas crises overnight. The government needs some time to address these problems,” the DSCC chief said.
He alleged that the opposition has started taking a stand against the government even before six months had passed, thereby creating obstacles to its efforts to work for the country.

Kamrangirchar Iron Bridge had fallen into disrepair due to a lack of renovation. Rust had damaged several parts of the bridge, while large holes had developed at different points, posing risks to pedestrians.
DSCC renovated the bridge on a priority basis and reopened it on Friday.

According to DSCC, around 50 lakh people in the surrounding areas will benefit from the renovated bridge.

Although vehicles will not be allowed on the bridge, local residents will now be able to cross it safely on foot, improving pedestrian connectivity in the densely populated Kamrangirchar area.
