
NARAYANGANJ, Aug 29: The foundation stone of a four-storey building of Kabi Nazrul School and College was laid on Saturday in Araihazar Upazila of the district, marking ‘Nazrul Year’.
The programme was held in the afternoon (August 29) at the academy premises at Khagkanda Union.
Narayanganj-2 MP Nazrul Islam Azad laid the foundation stone as the chief guest.
Nazrul Islam Azad said the current government has attached importance to the education sector and allocated the highest amount of funds to education in the national budget.
“Education gets highest allocation in budget. Education must be developed if we want to develop Bangladesh,” he said.
He said he would make every efforts to ensure that educational institutions at Araihazar benefit from government initiatives and increased investment in the sector.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asadur Rahman and college Principal Nargis Akter, among others, spoke at the function.
