Bangladeshi worker dies in UAE while working at construction site

A 25-year-old Bangladeshi worker died in the United Arab Emirates after falling from a staircase while working at a construction site.

Mohammad Jamshedul Islam died at a hospital in the UAE on Saturday afternoon after spending a prolonged period in intensive care with serious injuries.

Jamshedul was the son of Md Nazrul Islam of Sreepur-Kharandweep Union in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram.

According to his nephew, Md Zubayet, Jamshedul travelled from the Mussafah area of Abu Dhabi to Al Ain on August 16 for construction work. While working at an under-construction building, he fell from a staircase and sustained severe head injuries.

He was rescued and taken to a local hospital. As his condition deteriorated, doctors admitted him to the ICU where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday afternoon after a long-time battle for life.
