The Bangladesh Cricket Board has provisionally suspended three individuals after charging them with alleged breaches of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code in connection with the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.

The three are former BCB director Mohammad Mukhlesur Rahman Shamim, former security liaison officer Zakir Hossain and former BCB councillor Rakibul Islam Sunny.

Three former officials face allegations under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code following an investigation into the 12th Bangladesh Premier League

The disciplinary action follows an investigation by the BCB Integrity Unit into alleged corrupt conduct during the tournament. The charges include allegations linked to attempts to influence the outcome, progress or conduct of matches, facilitating corrupt activity, failing to report approaches and non-cooperation with the anti-corruption investigation.

Mukhlesur Rahman faces multiple allegations, including claims that he attempted to influence the course or outcome of BPL matches or was involved in efforts to fix matches.

All three have been provisionally suspended from cricket-related activities while the disciplinary process continues. They have been given 14 days to respond to the charges.

The BCB's decision marks another significant step in its efforts to strengthen the integrity framework surrounding the country's premier domestic tournament, which has faced repeated scrutiny over governance and anti-corruption issues.

The board has stressed that the charges remain allegations at this stage and that the accused individuals will have the opportunity to respond before any final disciplinary decision is taken.

The latest action comes as the BCB seeks to rebuild confidence in the BPL and establish stronger safeguards around the tournament ahead of its future editions.
