Hili Customs destroys 1.5 tons of expired and banned goods

Hili Customs authorities destroyed 1.5 tons of banned, unreleased, and expired imported goods valued at Tk 10 lakh.

The goods were destroyed on Wednesday (September 9) afternoon at a designated site near the Gohara Crematorium under Hakimpur Municipality in the presence of destruction committee members. The seized items included food products, cosmetics, and tobacco goods confiscated by various agencies at the Hili land port.


Joint Commissioner of Rangpur Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Faisal Bin Rahman, Hili Customs Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Mahi Uddin, and Hakimpur Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mehdi Imam were present during the disposal.

Senior officials from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), local police, the Department of Environment, and Fire Service and Civil Defence also attended the destruction process.
