Xi urges end to interference in other countries' affairs at BRICS summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for an end to interference in other countries' affairs and urged nations to keep trade open and maintain an environment for dialogue at a BRICS summit in New Delhi.
Xi also called for unity in rejecting decisions imposed through power and maintaining a stable environment for trade and dialogue, according to reports.
Expressing deep concern over tensions in the Middle East, Xi said the ongoing war was harmful to the entire world and was pushing ordinary people towards greater suffering.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also attended the meeting.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who opened the summit, said BRICS countries account for about half of the world's population and 40 per cent of the global economy.
He called for a new world order in which countries, regardless of size, enjoy equal rights.
