Authorities seized four tons of fake fertilizer during a mobile court drive at Paluhati Bazaar in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday.
Gouripur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afia Amin Pappa led the raid on September 13 following detailed intelligence provided by the National Security Intelligence. The drive involved an official team comprising agricultural extension officers, NSI personnel, and Gouripur Police Station personnel.
Traders fled the scene after detecting the arrival of the mobile court team. Officers subsequently broke the locks of M/s Sujon Enterprise and recovered three tons of counterfeit inputs, including 60.5 bags of fake TSP, 25 kg of urea, and 5 kg of MOP.
The business owner, Sujon Mia, son of the late Wahed Ali of Paluhati village, remains absconding, and a case has been filed against him.
Additionally, the team raided the shop of retail trader Ataur Rahman in the same market and seized 19 bags of fake TSP fertilizer weighing nearly one ton.
