A UK man has confessed in court to drugging his wife without her knowledge and raping her over a period of 20 years.
The accused pleaded guilty to 60 separate charges, including multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, and administering a substance with intent, at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.
The identity of the husband, who is in his sixties and resides in Stockport, Greater Manchester, has been withheld alongside his wife's name for legal reasons. The victim attended the court hearing accompanied by family members.
According to court proceedings, the abuse began in 2004 and continued for nearly two decades. The defendant visibly broke down in tears as he repeatedly uttered "guilty" before the judge, who eventually allowed him to sit down in the dock.
Twelve other men are currently on trial facing multiple sexual offense charges involving the same woman between September 2018 and November 2025, though all twelve have denied the allegations. Another man previously admitted to sexual offenses against the victim.
Sentencing for the husband will be delivered at the conclusion of the ongoing trial involving the co-defendants.
