The body of a teenage boy was found near the barbed-wire fence along the Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria on Saturday night, with the BGB and BSF coordinating efforts to recover it.
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) received information about the body at around 8:30pm. It was reportedly found near border pillar 2022-9S along the Bangladesh-India border.
Niramoy Chakma, commander of the BGB Faqirmura Camp, said they had received information about a body lying near the border fence and were trying to contact the BSF for its identification and recovery due to the late hour.
Lt Col Jabbar Ahmed, commanding officer of BGB’s Sarail Battalion (25 BGB), said it was not immediately clear how the body reached the location or what caused the teenager’s death.
He said further action would be taken through coordination between the BGB and BSF.
