Jubo Dal chief demands arrest of Nasir over alleged cocktail attacks

BNP’s Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna has accused NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary of being behind cocktail attacks across the country and demanded his arrest.

Munna made the remarks at a protest rally organised by Dhaka South Jubo Dal in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Tuesday, protesting what he described as anarchy by the banned Awami League.

“Nasiruddin Patwary must be arrested immediately. His statements make it clear that they are trying to destabilise the country by exploding cocktails,” Munna said.

He also accused Jamaat-e-Islami of secretly reaching an understanding with the Awami League and alleged that the party was attempting to repeat what he called the “hypocrisy” of 1996.

Munna further demanded a proper investigation into the death of the second wife of expelled Jamaat lawmaker Gazi Nazrul Islam.

He also accused Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (Raksu) General Secretary Salauddin Ammar of involvement in the arson attack at Rajshahi Railway Station and demanded his arrest.

Munna said, "Jubo Dal would remain ready to “strengthen the hands” of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman."
