Former army personnel killed in road accident in Kushtia

A former army personnel was killed in a road accident in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Khandaker Ehsan Habib, 60, son of late Khandaker Hasmat Ali of Hakimpur village under Sadar Union of Daulatpur.

The accident occurred around 2:30 PM in front of Ansar-VDP Bank near Daulatpur Degree College.

According to local sources, Ehsan Habib was riding his motorcycle towards Daulatpur upazila market when a shallow-engine-powered steering trolley coming from behind hit his motorcycle.

He fell off the motorcycle and died on the spot.

Family members said Ehsan Habib had been suffering from an illness for some time.

Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khaledur Rahman said the former army personnel was killed in the road accident.

As the family had no complaint, the body was handed over to them after completing the necessary legal procedures.
