JCD stages protest march in Dhaka against alleged Awami League unrest

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a protest march in the capital on Wednesday against what it described as attempts by the Awami League to create unrest in the country.
The march, led by JCD Central Committee Joint General Secretary Saleh Md Adnan, began at Moghbazar intersection at 4:00 PM and passed through Wireless intersection, Mouchak, Malibagh and Shantinagar before ending with a brief rally in front of Moghbazar Century Market.
Addressing the rally, Adnan alleged that Awami League activists were making fresh attempts to create unrest in different parts of the country. He also alleged that attempts were being made to destabilise the country through cocktail explosions and other acts of disorder.
“Any attempt to create unrest will be firmly resisted on the streets under the leadership of JCD,” he said.
Among those present were JCD Central Committee Joint General Secretaries Abul Hossain Howlader Ashiq and Md Ruhul Amin, Joint Organising Secretary Md Arif Sikder and Mehedi Hasan Sohag.
Leaders and activists from Dhaka University JCD, including Joint General Secretary Md Mahmudul Hasan and former Vice-President Md Marjuk Sakib, as well as former acting General Secretary of Dhaka College JCD Habibur Rahman Akash, also joined the march.
Several hundred leaders and activists from different universities, colleges, metropolitan units and police station-level JCD units in Dhaka took part in the programme.
