Bangladesh measles death toll reaches 1,096

Nine people died of measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,341 new suspected and confirmed cases were reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Notification issued on Sunday (September 27) revealed that four deaths occurred in Dhaka division, two each in Chittagong and Sylhet, and one in Mymensingh.

Data from the health directorate shows that since March 15, the total death toll from measles and related symptoms has risen to 1,096.

Among the deceased, 101 succumbed to confirmed measles, while 995 died from measles symptoms.
