Yamal scores third-fastest goal England have conceded at Wembley

Lamine Yamal scored inside the second minute as Spain took an early lead against England at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday, recording the third-fastest goal England have conceded at the stadium.

Yamal capitalised on a mistake by England defender Marc Guehi while the hosts were trying to play the ball out from their own half. The Barcelona forward won possession, raced into the box and beat goalkeeper James Trafford.

According to Opta, it was the third-fastest goal England have conceded in their history at Wembley. Hungary's Nandor Hidegkuti scored in the first minute in 1953, while Scotland's Tommy Ring also scored in the opening minute in 1957.

Yamal's goal was therefore the earliest England had conceded at Wembley in almost 70 years. Spain went on to win the match 3-2.
