One dies after falling from under-construction building in Purbachal

A 22-year-old man died after falling from a ladder while working at an under-construction building in the Purbachal 300 Feet area of the capital on Sunday night.
The deceased, identified as Tajim, was a sanitary worker. The incident occurred at around 8:30 PM at a 20-storey under-construction building in the Swadesh Properties area.
According to his colleague Ariful Islam Tushar, Tajim had been working as a sanitary worker for around two months. On Sunday night, he was working on a ladder at a height roughly equivalent to one storey above the basement when he accidentally slipped and fell. He sustained a severe injury to the back of his head.
Tajim’s aunt, Sharmin Akter, said they were informed about the incident by representatives of Swadesh Properties around 9pm. She said Tajim was seriously injured after falling while working in the third basement of the 20-storey building.
His colleagues initially took him to a nearby hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors at the emergency department declared him dead.
Tajim was from Bara Kajuli village in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur. His father’s name is Yamin Molla. The elder of two brothers, Tajim had been living in the Swadesh Properties area in 300 Feet. He had married about a year ago.
Mohammad Habibur Rahman, inspector and in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, confirmed the death, citing doctors. He said the body had been kept at the hospital morgue and the matter had been reported to the concerned police station.
