Radda vandalism: Jatiyatabadi Cyber Dal leader arrested

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested Sazzad Hossain Mishu Molla, vice-president of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Cyber Dal, over an overnight vandalism, looting and the demolition of the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur-1.

He was arrested during a police operation in the Mirpur area on Saturday.

Mohammad Rakib Khan, deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch's Mirpur division, confirmed the arrest.

He said Molla was arrested for his alleged involvement in the attack on the Radda centre and that further legal action against him was under process.

Police said Molla is a former founding committee member of the Shah Ali thana unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and currently serves as a vice-president of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Cyber Dal.

The incident has also drawn political attention. On October 1, BNP reserved-seat lawmaker Ferdousi Ahmed Misty submitted her resignation to the Speaker of parliament in connection with the incident.
