
Popular Life Insurance PLC has handed over insurance claim cheques totaling Tk 9 crore 67 lakh 57 thousand to policyholders in its Chattogram region.
As part of the company’s ongoing special drive for faster settlement of insurance claims, the cheques were distributed to Chattogram-region policyholders of Popular Life Insurance PLC.
The cheques were handed over to the policyholders at a ceremony held on Saturday at the Chattogram Engineers Institution auditorium, says a press release.
The Chief Guest at the programme was Mohammad Zahirul Islam Chowdhury, Chairman of Popular Life Insurance PLC. The event was presided over by B. M. Yusuf Ali, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company and President of the Bangladesh Insurance Forum. The Special Guest was Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, Sponsor Director and former Chairman of the company.
Speakers at the ceremony included Additional Managing Director B. M. Shawkat Ali, Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary Mostafa Helal Kabir, Senior DMD Syed Motahar Hossain, DMD Md. Khalilur Rahman Sikder, Executive Director Sajjad Mahmud Kishore, Project Director Md. Mahbubur Rahman, and other senior officials of the company. The programme was conducted by Project Directors Shamsuzzaman Selim and Arun Chandra Nath.
In his speech as Chief Guest, Mohammad Zahirul Islam Chowdhury said that Popular Life must move forward by maintaining honesty, hard work and professionalism while ensuring customer satisfaction. He also expressed the hope that, through the prompt and proper settlement of insurance claims and the collective efforts of all, Popular Life would emerge as a pioneer in the country’s insurance sector.
In his presidential address, B. M. Yusuf Ali said that insurance is an important financial safeguard for people’s uncertain future. That is why Popular Life is working tirelessly to ensure transparency, accountability and punctuality in the settlement of policyholders’ claims.
He added that the handover of these claim cheques to policyholders in the Chattogram region is a practical reflection of the company’s commitment to its customers.
