Three separate earthquakes struck regions along Bangladesh's borders with India and Myanmar overnight on Saturday, triggering tremors across Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Feni, and Dhaka.
The tremors occurred between 12:12 AM and 1:27 AM on Saturday night.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale and struck the Myanmar-Bangladesh border area at 12:12 AM.
Just one minute later, a second earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Lunglei in Mizoram along the India-Bangladesh border, causing noticeable tremors in Chittagong, Cumilla, Feni, and Noakhali.
A third earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Agartala in Tripura at 1:27 AM, causing mild tremors in Dhaka and several other parts of the country. No immediate reports of major casualties or structural damage were received.
