NCP leader and Cumilla-4 MP Hasnat Abdullah has said repeated attacks and intimidation will not silence NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary.
Hasnat made the remarks in a Facebook post on Sunday (October 4) night, reacting to the attack on Patwary at Lalon Shah’s Akhra in Kushtia. He also shared photos of a vandalised vehicle.
In the post, Hasnat said it was the fifth time Patwary had been attacked during the BNP government’s tenure, alleging that repeated attacks, threats and repression would not silence him.
“Attacks could not stop the Patwarys, nor will they in the future,” Hasnat wrote, adding that the struggle for justice, rights and freedom would continue.
Patwary was attacked by unidentified youths while leaving Lalon Shah’s Akhra earlier on Sunday. He and his companions later headed to Kumarkhali Police Station with the help of party activists and police to file a case.
The motive behind the attack and the identities of those involved were not immediately known. It was also not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.
