Motorcyclist killed as car hits

A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a private car in the Abdullahpur area of South Keraniganj in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Md Yakub, 38, of Char Gulgulia area in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj. He was reportedly involved in the land business.

According to his brother Yusuf, Yakub was riding his motorcycle to Abdullahpur around 5:00 PM to inspect a property when a private car hit his motorcycle, causing him to fall and sustain critical injuries.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 5:30 PM.

Md Habibur Rahman, inspector and in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed the death, quoting doctors.

He said the body had been kept at the hospital morgue and the matter had been reported to the police station concerned.
