The Supreme Court administration has tightened entry rules at night, requiring everyone entering the court premises between 11PM and 6AM to carry valid identification for security reasons.
The administration issued a notice on Tuesday (October 6), saying the measure was taken to prevent unauthorised people from entering the Supreme Court premises at night and ensure the security of judges, lawyers and the important judicial complex.
The notice said the Supreme Court is the country’s highest judicial institution and a key installation where the Chief Justice and judges of both divisions conduct judicial proceedings.
It said unauthorised people have recently been entering the Supreme Court premises at night, creating security concerns.
Under the new directive, anyone entering the premises between 11PM and 6AM must carry their respective identity cards. Those entering during the period for urgent reasons must produce their NID cards or official identification when requested by security officials or law enforcement personnel.
