Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a crude bomb blast in front of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the capital’s Tejgaon area early Saturday. Tejgaon Police Station (PS) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman confirmed the arrests on Saturday night.
The suspects were arrested during an operation in the Tejgaon area. However, he could not immediately provide their identities.
The suspects were sent to jail by court order, the PS OC said. Earlier, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Deputy Commissioner for Tejgaon Division, Ibne Mizan, said two men on a motorcycle threw two crude bombs in front of the PMO at around 1:30am on Saturday. One of the bombs exploded.
Following the incident, the DMP’s Bomb Disposal Unit arrived at the scene and safely neutralised the unexploded bomb, he added.
