Bangladesh Railway will not be held responsible for fraud, financial losses or misuse of personal information arising from the purchase of train tickets through unauthorised websites, apps, Facebook pages, individuals or third parties.

The railway authorities have urged passengers to purchase tickets only through officially approved channels to avoid fraud and other financial risks.

In a recent warning published on its official website, Bangladesh Railway said passengers must buy tickets through its authorised e-ticketing website, eticket.railway.gov.bd, the Rail Sheba app or authorised ticket counters.

The warning also stated that the railway would not accept responsibility for financial losses, fraud, misuse of personal information or account blocking resulting from attempts to purchase tickets through unauthorised channels.

Passengers have also been advised not to share their passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), National Identity Card (NID) details or other confidential information with anyone.

Bangladesh Railway has reiterated its call for passengers to use only authorised ticketing channels to ensure safe and secure train ticket purchases.
