The Bangladesh delegation walked out of the 7th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Thursday in protest during the speech of the Israeli President.
As the Israeli President began his address at the summit, the Bangladeshi delegation, led by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir, exited the conference hall.
Delegations from several other countries also left the venue alongside Bangladesh, boycotting the address to express their protest against Israel.
The 7th CICA Summit in Baku is being attended by leaders and senior representatives from various Asian nations to deliberate on regional cooperation, security, and the enhancement of mutual trust among member states.
Mahmudul Hasan, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the development.
