Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) district coach Mosaddeq Hossain Choton died in Dhaka on Saturday following a cardiac arrest. He was 42.
Choton was serving as the district coach for Dhaka and had been involved in Bangladesh's grassroots and youth cricket development for more than a decade.
He joined the BCB in 2011 and worked with Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 divisional teams, as well as Youth Cricket League (YCL) sides. Before taking up the Dhaka district coaching role, he served as assistant coach of Dhaka Metro.
A BCB-ACC Level 2-qualified coach, Choton was also involved in talent identification programmes. Most recently, he worked as a judge during the Dhaka and Chattogram phases of the Robi Bowler Hunt programme.
The BCB expressed deep sadness at his death and extended its condolences and sympathies to his family. His passing marks the loss of a coach who spent much of his professional career working with young cricketers and contributing to the development of the game at the domestic level.
