Bangladeshi businesses will seek new export markets, investment opportunities and technology partnerships with Spanish companies at the Spain Bangladesh Expo 2026 in Seville on Monday, as the two countries look to strengthen economic cooperation.

The exhibition will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and government representatives from both countries to explore commercial opportunities and establish direct business connections.

Organised jointly by the Spain Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SBCCI) and its partners, the exhibition will cover agriculture, manufacturing, ports and logistics, industrial automation, water management, garments and fashion, halal products, chemicals, food processing, furniture and retail.

The event will take place at Hotel Sevilla Center from 9:00am to 5:00pm on October 26 under the theme “Stronger Partnership, Shared Prosperity”.

For Bangladeshi businesses, the key objective will be to translate discussions into export orders, investment deals, joint ventures and long-term commercial partnerships.

Companies from both countries are expected to showcase their products, services, manufacturing capabilities and technologies. The programme will also feature business-to-business meetings to connect Bangladeshi entrepreneurs directly with Spanish manufacturers, importers, distributors and potential investors.

Senior government officials and business leaders from both countries are expected to attend the opening ceremony, according to the organisers’ programme.

The Spanish dignitaries listed in the programme include Antonio Sanz Cabello, vice-president of the Government of Andalusia, and Miguel Rus, president of the Confederation of Business Owners of Seville.

The Bangladeshi representatives listed in the programme include State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Spain Masudur Rahman and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Their expected participation could lend diplomatic support to the initiative and help strengthen institutional ties between the two countries.

The exhibition is part of a broader business delegation programme scheduled for October 22"29, covering Madrid, Seville and Malaga.
On October 27, Bangladeshi business representatives are scheduled to meet Javier Fernández de los Ríos, president of the Seville Provincial Council, and Francisco Herrero Leon, president of the Seville Chamber of Commerce.

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding bilateral trade, improving market access, attracting investment and promoting cooperation between businesses in the two countries.

The delegation will then travel to Malaga, where meetings are scheduled for October 28 with Mayor Francisco de la Torre Prados and José Carlos Escribano de Garaizábal, president of the Malaga Chamber of Commerce.

Further business discussions are planned for October 29 before the delegation returns to Dhaka.

The organisers expect the programme to help Bangladeshi entrepreneurs build business relationships across several important commercial centres in Spain.

For Bangladesh, stronger commercial ties with Spain could create additional opportunities for local manufacturers and exporters. Direct engagement with Spanish buyers and investors could also help Bangladeshi businesses better understand market requirements, explore new distribution channels and identify areas for technological and industrial cooperation.
