Singer Bangladesh Limited, a subsidiary of Beko, the flagship of Türkiye's Koç Holding, reported its third-quarter 2026 financial results, posting revenue of Tk 4.4 billion, up 6.54 per cent from Tk 4.1 billion in the same period last year.

Despite this, the company faced a gap between expectations and actual sales due to a stagnant consumer electronics market. Gross profit margins improved marginally, but increased cost of sales could not be fully passed on to consumers due to intense market price sensitivity.

Operating profits remained static quarter-onquarter, however, resulting in a loss before tax of Tk. 709.4 million, compared to a loss of Tk 428.9 million in the same period of last year, mainly because of net finance cost of Tk. 756.8.  The Company initiated investment in the new state-of-the-art, global-standard Green Factory at the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone, spanning more than 135,000 square meters in 2022, to enable over 90% local manufacturing, strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce import dependency, and enhance production efficiency.

However, during the implementation phase, project costs escalated due to significant local currency depreciation. Furthermore, ongoing geopolitical tensions across the Middle East and Eastern Europe, combined with domestic political transitions, have constrained local economic activity, which is yet to stabilize. Though the unforeseen external and domestic factors have temporarily delayed expected returns, the management remains committed to navigating these temporary headwinds.

To support the Company, the Board of Directors has recommended raising up to BDT 2,500 million by issuing up to 250 million Preference Shares at BDT 10 per share. These shares will be issued at the discretion of the issuer via private placement to the sponsor shareholder subject to Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission approval. The proceeds will be used to refinance existing debt, reduce the debt burden, and fund working capital.

These initiatives reflect Singer Bangladesh’s commitment to sustainable industrial growth and innovation; the company remains focused on driving expansion through local manufacturing, export development, product innovation, and an enhanced customer experience. Backed by a multi-brand strategy and continued local investment, Singer Bangladesh is well-positioned to create long-term value for its customers, shareholders, and the broader economy.
