Rail Minister denies online ticketing irregularities

Railways Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam has said an investigation found no substantiated complaints of irregularities in online train ticket sales.

He made the remarks at a briefing at Kamalapur Railway Station on Monday night regarding the extension of the Mahanagar Express route to Cox’s Bazar.

The minister said tickets were sold on a first-come, first-served basis, adding that efforts were underway to improve the system and curb ticket reselling.

He acknowledged that preventing ticket transfers and illegal profiteering remained challenging, stressing the need for technological solutions and greater public awareness.
